Haven't we seen this movie before? Guy goes to a bar, the band sounds great. He sticks around far longer than expected, talking with people and having microbrew - the band is just too much. Hypnotic.

I was just checking my watch - by which I mean my phone, because dammit it's 2012 - and noticed that in addition to it being some time in the afternoon on some day, it was also the day before a MOCK CREST show.
Ah, that special time each month when we let our proverbial hair proverbially down and let ourselves get down with all that we've been keeping down. Y'all come round and get down, too. We've got new tunes and plenty of old ones from which we can make something really interesting happen, and we usually do.
The Mock Crest is a great place to be a part of it all, make a note of it!
P.S. - I've got new pickups in the Telecaster. Snobby hipster critiques are welcome, please start thinking of adjectives now.
It's been awhile since we've done this amazing group, but the Caravan Gogh reunion is on!
Portland eclectic music quartet Caravan Gogh will reunite for a final reunion concert on Saturday, January 28, 2012, 9pm at Secret Society Ballroom in Portland, OR.
Caravon Gogh is Gideon Freudmann (cell), Jim D'Ville (ukulele), Brian Oberlin (mandolin), Calen Uhlig (bass) and yours truly Brad Price on guitar. What a lineup! Better practice.
Blending acoustic string styles with doses of rock, swing, funk, jazz and mysterioso, Caravan Gogh's music includes energetic and beautiful original songs ranging from gypsy waltzes to all out acoustic rock, from calypso inspired dance tunes to serene soundscapes. Special guests at the CVG reunion concert will include Portland blues guitar legend Mary Flower.

Just when you thought that perhaps the miasma of 2011 had left the room, and that new breezes were wafting through the window you threw open on January 1, along comes a reminder. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose!

I am embarking upon a new venture with good friend Donnie Wright, starting at my old haunt the Mock Crest. It's acoustic fingerstyle guitar and bass with plenty of room to stretch over a foundation of rock solid Americana - blues, folk, country and more.
For those of you who've only seen my electric gigs, this will be something different. It's a real treat to do this kind of music with Donnie Wright and I can't wait to achieve liftoff!
Out to the coast again for a show at the Sportsman's Pub & Grub - home of the best fish & chips this boy has EVER had. We are a trio this time, but I'll still bringing the Telecaster. Come hang with us and soak up some local flavor, it's a blast!
Skyline Elementary had a pretty tough year last year, as most of you know. Cindy Lou Banks is a wonderful singer/songwriter who lives in the church directly across the street on Skyline, and we are putting on a special concert with her to help the school. Cindy and I go way back, it's a pleasure to play with her.

It's that time of the month again. Yes, first Saturday means that Donna, Brad, Marty and Scotty are once more tearing it up at the good old Mock Crest Tavern, playing our soupy mix of rock, country and jam for the assembled faithful and no-so-faithful. The harmonies soar, the rhythms roar and the guitar is honey-dipped in reverb. It's art, baby.
The Mock Crest remains one of our favorite places in town, run and attended by great people with great PDX flavor. You just can't go wrong!

I'll be playing with KC and doing some solo sets during the show, so get ready for some fingerpicking guitar that will knock your socks off! KC is a wonderful guitarist, singer and songwriter, and Deb Katz will be adding gorgeous violin to the proceedings.
